The Cooperative Thrift & Credit Societies are organized and formed with the aim and objects to cater the financial needs and socio-economic development of its members. The services of these societies are focused to save the financial interest of its members as well as save them from the harassments and exploitation of the private money-lenders on the one hand. On the other hand, it creates a sense of self help through mutual help amongst its members as well as encourages them to unite and create a habit of savings for their future needs.
Cooperative societies are socio-economic organisation formed for common benefit of the members under the legal provisions of the concerned state. Aim and objects of the society may be different form society to society. Main purpose of these societies is socio-economic development of the weaker section.
The Sahu Cooperative Urban Thrift & Credit Society Ltd. is a cooperative credit society registered with the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Delhi bearing registration no. 6(T/C)N-East dated 23 October, 1994. This society runs under the provisions of Delhi Cooperative Societies Act, 2003, Delhi Cooperative Societies Rules, 2007, its registered byelaws and business policy framed by the General Body of the society. The aim and objects of the society are to undertake thrift & credit business amongst its members only. The society caters not only financial needs of its members, but also works for social, cultural and educational development of the members and their dependants.
The society was organized and established by Sh. R.P. Sahu, Advocate, a highly qualified professional having interest in social activities and dreaming for financial and social upliftment of the weaker section of the society. As on date Sh. R. P. Sahu is a renowned and reputed face in the cooperative sector of Delhi.
The society has completed its 28 years of success, achieving many goals and awards for its excellent performance from the Government of NCT of Delhi. The society has set no. of mile stones in the cooperative sector pertaining to day to day working as well as forming tremendous policy for providing better and smooth services to its members. The Society has never failed to convene its Annual General Meeting, conducting audit of the accounts of the society and holding election of the managing committee.
The society has been leader in using latest technology for faster and easier services to its members. The society maintains accounts of the members mechanically on computer through exclusive and customized software developed by its own. The Society performs its all activities from its Registered and Head Office at Yamuna Vihar, Delhi apparently from its branch offices at Sonia Vihar. All office premises are well furnished and its own having all modern facilities, furniture and fixtures for giving comfortable feelings to its visitors/members.
